The ADSL Modem will allow one computer to connect to the Internet. If you wish to connect more than one computer to the Internet, you will need to buy a router.

  • SpeedNet Lite and SpeedNet allow up to the listed downstream and upstream speeds.
  • The ADSL Modem connects to an Ethernet port on your computer. Your computer must have an Ethernet port to connect to the modem. Most computers now come with a network card already built into the motherboard. See bottom of page for instructions on finding out if you have an Ethernet card.

****To Determine if your Computer has a Network Card (XP Users):
Click Start then Control Panel. Switch to Classic View. Open the System icon. Click the Hardware tab. Click the Device Manager button. Look through the list for "Network Adapters" Expand this by clicking the + sign to the left. There will be something listed here such as Ethernet, fast Ethernet, pci Ethernet, for example.
